Tea Tree Oil - Heal Your Skin Naturally

To is invalid Parameter name: to

Essential Oils are the highly concentrated essences distilled from specific plants. They are used not only for their scent, but for their medicinal attributes as well.

Tea Tree is the most powerful antibiotic and antifungal of the essential oils. It's pungent, medicinal fragrance is refreshing and revitalizing to the senses. The oil is distilled from the leaves of the Tea Tree. Native to Australia, Tea Tree has been used by the aborigines for centuries to relieve respiratory problems, headaches, and to heal infected wounds. Captain Cook's sailors used it in the 18th century to fight scurvy.

Because it has the ability to regulate the production of sebum (the skins natural oil), tea tree is a fabulous healing tonic for your skin. The oil benefits skin by helping to heal burns, acne, and cold sores. Tea tree clears blemishes caused by chicken pox and is even good for warts. It also helps to relieve itching and foot fungus.

To heal mild infection from a cut or insect bite, place 3 drops of the oil on a cotton ball and apply to affected area.

This oil can be used directly on the skin or added to a carrier oil such as almond or olive oil.

Mixes well with lavender.

Warning: Tea Tree oil may be irritating to sensitive skin. Do a patch test before using.*

Sample Recipe:

Acne Zapper
? 3 drops Tea Tree Oil
? 3 drops Geranium Oil
? 3 drops Lemon Oil
? 3 teaspoons carrier oil such as almond or olive.

Mix oils and apply to clean face nightly.

*Patch test-Before using a new recipe, even if it's natural, it makes sense to do a patch test first. Apply a small amount to the inside of your arm. Cover it with a band-aid for 24 hours. If the spot becomes red and/or itchy, you are having a bad reaction to one of the ingredients and you should not use it on your skin. Wash it off with warm soapy water. If you have particularly sensitive skin, consult with your dermatologist.
