To ensure that your lace wig fits properly when you receive it, it is vital to have correct measurements.
When purchasing a lace remy wig, especially a custom one, one of the most important things is knowing how to take accurate measurements of your scalp. You need to have proper measurements to make sure it isn't too snug or even worse, too loose.
Follow the chart below for 6 easy steps to take measurements for your lace wig.
A. Preparing Your Hair: For your hair, we suggest styling it as you would want it while it is under the wig when it's being worn. You will want to either put it in a flat and tight ponytail wrapped backwards, put it into a braided flat beehive, or braid it straight back into flat cornrows along the scalp. You will need to do this in order to get results from your measurements. Before you take the measurements, get your hair as flat and tight as you possibly can. This way your head contours won't be distorted by bulging hair.
This will be a little different if your hair is less than three inches long or you don't have any hair. When your hair is either wet and flat on the scalp you can take your measurements. First apply a wig cap to further flatten your hair, or just take your measurements directly on your scalp. Press firmly on your scalp and only measure where your hairline is or any place you want the lace hair line to be made.
B. Size Standards and the Average Measurements: These measurements below are just for example's sake.? These measurements won't conform to everyone's head, and some of your measurements will either be under or over which is totally fine.
Small: 20" to 21.5" circumference, (13.5-14"), 12", 12.5", 14.5", 5"Medium: 22" to 22.5"circumference, 14", (12.5-13"), 13", 15.5", (5.5"-6")Large: 23" to 24.5"circumference, (15.5-16"), 13", 13.5", 16.5", (6.5-7")C. How To Take Measurements Yourself: For steps one through six in the chart below, use a soft measuring tape like the kind used for clothing. Most wigs will use whole and half inch measurements, so it's usually best to round your number up instead of down. Example: 12 3/4 should be rounded up to 13 and 12 1/4 should be rounded up to 12 1/2.
It is very important that you make sure that your measurements are accurate.? Your wig might not fit if it's measured improperly. It's best to take your measurements about two or three times to make certain you are accurate.
